Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:Can anybody call themselves a nutritionist?
A: Yes! Unfortunately there is no law stopping unqualified people from referring to themselves as "nutritionists". To make sure you are dealing with a qualified professional look for the letters RD after their name. RD means that they have taken the required classes, completed a 900 hour dietetic internship, and passed the examination. They should also be members of the American Dietetic Association, as well as licensed in the state they practice.

Q:What services do you provide?
A: Mandi provides a variety of different services
  •  Private Counseling  sessions
  • "Lunch and Learn" lecture: Food Smart: Nutrition Tips for Healthy Kids designed for working moms
  • Group lectures on the topic of choice
  • Phone Consults

Q: What will a nutrition session be like?
A: An initial counseling session usually lasts about an hour. Mandi will review your questionnaire  with you in order to better understand your child's specific needs. You will discuss what it is you would like to gain from these sessions, and Mandi will make suggestions for dietary changes to help your child reach their goals.
A follow-up session is usually about 45 minutes. Mandi will discuss what progress has been made since your initial session, and discuss what's working for you and what's not. Adjustments and additional suggestions will be provided. You will also discuss any new issues that may have surfaced.
